Information about the town Kyle

Life moves at a little slower pace here in Kyle, TX and that's fine by us. The city is in a population boom right now thanks to it's proximity to Austin and San Antonio Texas. The city of Kyle has nearly 30,000 residents, up from around 7,000 10 years ago. Neighborhoods are everywhere. It is a bedroom town, meaning that people come to kyle to sleep, but often times head to the city as soon as they wake up for work or play.

The city is constantly improving its infrastructure. Road construction is always going on, they built a new city hall recently as well as a new library and fire station. All of the architecture is similar- which residents current and future will appreciate. There is still an odd mix of brand new and expensive right next door to run down and old in the downtown area. This is because money is a new thing for the city. basically quadrupling in size in the past four years has brought in a ton of new property tax revenue for the city and is allowing them to service a considerable debt that was used for all of these public works projects. Ideally, the city will continue to grow and that will make financing these debts easier, but currently it is estimated that the city owes twenty million and is only paying the interest on what they've borrowed. It goes without saying though that the infrastructure that the city officials have decided to put into place has been well thought out and will be suitable for at least the next 50 years (in terms of build construction) and size.

One good thing the city has going for it is a number of excellent eateries. The Texas Pie Company is a big attraction and people actually stop in from out of town to visit. Another popular place is Pizza Classics. They are the only locally owned and operated pizza shop in the community that isn't a franchise. It is a unique product that they are preparing instead of the typical mass production you expect at a pizza place. Another great spot is for my meat eaters out there. Milt's BBQ is home to some of the best ribs in the state. Rib meat literally falls off of the bone! Check out this video below to learn more about Milts:
